Over the years, Samsung has been working on improvements along with new technologies. It has recently released the latest handset in the Note series. It has been a leader in handset manufacturing from the decades. It has already launched various series of handsets. Some of the best till date series by Samsung are S series, Note series, and Z series. In this article, we will talk about the recently released handset by Samsung in the Note Series. We have tried to find out the differences and similarities between the latest handset Note 10 Plus and the earlier Note version Note 9. There’s no doubt it is the best till date device by Samsung, but if you are already using the earlier released version of Note series, that is Note 9, should you upgrade to the Note 10 Plus? Although Note 9 was released almost a year before Note 10 and Note 10 Plus, it can still be an option for purchase, as it has several features which are comparable to the newly launched Note 10 and Note 10 Plus in the list of Note series.
Note 10 Plus vs Note 9: Design
Definitely, in terms of design, the Note 10 Plus is a bit superior to Note 9. But both the handsets share the right amount of similarities in terms of hardware and other functions. You will get stereo speakers, S Pen Styluses, IP68 water resistance in both the devices. But the latest device in the Note series lacks a 3.5 mm jack and also it does not have a dongle included in the package. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has a Bixby button on the left side of the screen which is a virtual assistant developed by Samsung itself, below the volume buttons and a power button on the right side of the screen. However, in Note 10 Plus we can only see the volume buttons and a power button and both on the left side, the power button which on long press can be used to enable the virtual assistant Bixby.
Some of the users might get disappointed by the lack of power button on the right side of the screen, but once they will start using the handset, they will find their way out of this too.
However, both the devices have One UI along with the dedicated dark mode, and the theme supports gesture navigations and much more added features. The interface of both devices is almost similar. However, Note 10 Plus have some additional features like AR Doodle Camera and an S Pen Stylus with which you can interact with the camera interface
Both the devices, offer Fingerprint and Face Unlock feature Note 10 Plus does not have a pretty impressive fingerprint scanner. It is almost similar to the one in Note 9. Note 9 has a faster and more reliable fingerprint scanner compared to Note 10 Plus. Both the devices have Face Unlock feature, but this feature is more secure in Note 9 when compared to Note 10 Plus. The Face unlock feature of Note 9 has iris scanning technology which is more reliable than the regular Face Unlock feature.
Note 10 Plus vs Note 9: Display
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is having a massive display of 6.8 inches and an AMOLED screen with a resolution of 3040 * 1440 pixels with a screen size of 19:9 ratio. The screen has a protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 6, which is one of the best screen protectors. Note 10 Plus has an excellent color accuracy along with the contrast and can provide immense brightness when it comes under direct sunlight. All these features together give an impressive on-screen experience to the users.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has a big display of 6.4 inches with an AMOLED screen and a resolution of 2960 * 1440 pixels with a screen size of 18.5:9 and a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Like Note 10 Plus, this device too has impressive features, and unlike Note 10 Plus, the screen of this device isn’t interrupted by any punch-hole cameras in the front.
Note 10 Plus vs Note 9: Performance
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus is powered with an octa-core processor along with a 12 GB of RAM along with the upgrade option for the latest Android version. The device comes with two storage options, 256GB & 512 GB. You can select storage according to your requirements. Along with that, it has an Exynos 9825 (7 nm) processor which is available for international versions. However, for the US, the device has been powered with a Snapdragon 855 processor. All these features offer users to do multitasking on the device without any interruptions.
Note 9, on the other hand, has an octa-core processor with two different RAM and storage options for the users. The device comes in 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and 8GB and 512G Storage options. The device is powered by Exynos 9810 (10 mm) chipset for the international version and is equipped with Snapdragon 845 for the US versions of the handset.
Both devices perform well in terms of performance. However, Note 10 Plus can perform heavy tasks with more ease compared to Note 9.
Note 10 Plus vs Note 9: Camera
The Note 10 Plus has pretty advanced cameras compared to Note 9. The Note 10 Plus comes with a Quad Camera Setup for better and enhanced video and image capturing. It consists of a 12 MP wide camera, 12 MP telephoto camera, 16 MP ultra-wide camera and a 0.3 MP depth camera to improve Live Focus portrait mode. The camera provides wide-angle shots along with high contrast, live focus, HDR mode, night mode and night live time focus. The back-camera setup offers 4K recording at 60 frames per second.
There is a 10-megapixel wide camera on the front of the screen for shooting selfies which also provides 4K video recording at 30 frames per second.
Note 9, on the other hand, has a dual-camera setup of 12 MP wide camera and a 12 MP telephoto camera with a 4K video recording feature at 60 frames per second.
The device has an 8 MP wide camera for taking selfies and recording 1440p videos at 30 fps and a 2MP dedicated camera for iris scanning, which makes Note 9 superior to Note 10 Plus in terms of Face Unlock feature.
Note 10 Plus vs Note 9: Battery
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus offers fast charging at 45Wh and is having a Non-removable battery of 4300 mAh. It also provides wireless as well as reverse wireless charging. Note 9, on the other hand, offers a non-removable battery of 4000 mAh. It also provides fast charging although comparatively less than Note 10 Plus, but is available.
Both the devices have almost similar battery capacity, which can last up to 8-9 hours, after hours of multitasking. Note 9 comparatively takes more time than Note 10 Plus in terms of charging. Note 9 takes around 110 minutes to get fully charged, but Note 10 Plus takes nearly 60 minutes for getting fully charged.
