Tips to Organize Your iPhone Apps

When you download applications on your iPhone, they appear to be anywhere on the Home Screen and do not have a planned or strategized space. A lot of applications installed on a device can create a fuss finding them or in other ways.
To move an application from one place to another, tap and hold on the icon until all the apps start jiggling. Select ‘Edit Home Screen’ from the drop-down menu that appears and move the application to the desired place. You can also move the applications to the other pages of the home screen. After you move your app to its new location, click on the ‘Done’ button on the top right corner of the screen.
Below mentioned are the tips to keep your apps organized on the Home Screen.
  1. Essential apps on the first page of Home Screen
It is not necessary to add a bulk of apps on the first page of the home screen and then move to another. You can store all the essential applications that you use the most, on the first page of the home screen for easy access.
Each time you unlock your phone, the screen with the most important apps will appear first. You can put the remaining applications on the other pages that you can access by swiping right or left.
  • Use Dock to create Folders
The Dock is a folder that appears at the bottom of the iPhone window. It can store multiple applications in a single Dock, as well. Majorly, people create Docks to access apps like Mail, Safari, etc. An advantage of creating Dock folders is that you can access these folders no matter which page of the home screen you’re using.
  • Categorize folders based on the app type
Categorizing applications based on the app type is the simplest way to keep your home screen healthy looking. You may group the applications and create different folders for them for example, social media, music apps, games, etc. Similarly, all the shopping sites can be grouped in one folder, and a lot more.
iOS 14 is the trending topic for discussion as it will introduce an ‘App Library’ feature, that tends to arrange your apps automatically, until then you’ll have to work on it yourself.
  • Organize apps alphabetically
You can organize your application on the basis of their initials for easy access of the same. The steps to organizing the applications alphabetically are:
  1. Go to the ‘Settings’ app on the home screen of your iPhone.
  2. Click on the ‘General’ tab from the list.
  3. Scroll down and click on the ‘Reset’ button.
  4. Next, tap on the ‘Reset Home Screen Layout’ option.
By following the four steps mentioned above, you can easily organize your apps alphabetically.
  • Organize apps on their color basis
If you think that color intrigues you the most, you can organize the applications based on their color, for example, creating a folder with all the applications with blue color icons.
Organizing your apps this way will also make your home screen look different and pretty!
  • Using Spotlight instead of icons
The Spotlight search engine is the best way to access your applications without having to locate the same going through the folders. All you need to do is type the first few letters of the app name in the Spotlight section, and the app icon will appear.
Swipe down on your home screen, and a search textbox will appear on the top of it, where you can type and search for the apps.
