Who Would Win if Sasuke Uchiha Were to Fight Izuku Midoriya?

The shonen genre has no dearth of protagonists who would put everything on the line and fight against any odds to save the day. All Shonen heroes are very clear about their principles, and they leave no stones unturned to ensure that they protect the downtrodden and the needy. Izuku Midoriya from My Hero Academia is an excellent example of such a Shonen Hero who is not afraid of fighting anyone for the greater good. He has developed an intense rivalry with Katsuki Bakugo, a childhood friend of his. They both want to become the next symbol of peace after All Might’s retirement to ensure that peace and order are maintained, and the evil forces are kept at bay.

In the world of Naruto, the protagonist had a fierce rivalry with Sasuke Uchiha. It is intriguing to imagine what would have happened if Izuku and Sasuke were to fight each other. Someone like Sasuke would be motivated to prove his family’s reputation on the battlefield, while Izuku will be focused on proving that he is the worthy successor to the great All Might. The fight will undoubtedly be intense, with both fighters giving their all to ensure that they emerge victoriously. 

Izuku Midoriya: Skills and Powers

Izuku surprisingly had no combat experience before the age of 14. He was just an ordinary Quirkless kid who had the impossible dream of becoming the greatest hero. When All Might chose him as his successor, he had to train Izuku because One for All Quirk would have been too strong for his weak body. Izuku took proper combat training under All Might, who taught him in martial arts as well. He later went on to learn from All Might’s mentor Gran Torino. It was under his tutelage that Izuku worked on his mobility and stamina. By the time Izuku was done training under both of his teachers, he had mastered advanced martial arts techniques for children his age. However, Izuku was not done; he kept learning new moves and techniques whenever possible, to get better.

Izuku’s Quirk One for All gives him immense powers, and even though he can use only a small percentage of it, he has devastating power that can potentially prove threatening for any Shonen hero or villain. Even five percent of the Quirk is enough to blast most of his enemies away and create strong winds. With the Full Cowling technique, he can evenly spread the Quirk throughout his body, enhancing his physical abilities in unimaginable ways. 

As if tough training in martial arts and a strong Quirk were not enough, the most underrated ability of Izuku is to assess his enemy’s moves and quickly adapt to their strengths and weaknesses. When he did not have a Quirk, he would go around watching fights to understand the fighters’ strengths and weaknesses. It helped him later in combat as he was quick to find out his enemies’ weakness, which gave him a considerable advantage. 

Sasuke Uchiha: Skills and Powers

An expert in taijutsu, Sasuke Uchiha has impressive speed, technique, and strength that can surprise anyone. He also has an enormous amount of chakra that is a scary reminder of the threat that he poses. When his cursed seal is activated, his physical prowess becomes even more intimidating. He combines his electrical chakra with his swords to surprise his enemies. Moreover, he has been gifted with the Sharingan Eye, which helps him track his adversaries and study their jutsu. His summoning can be used to summon snakes and hawks anytime in a battle. 

Sasuke, just like Izuku Midoriya, is a cunning fighter who makes very smart moves depending on the strengths and weaknesses of his adversaries. Even though he might not be as good as Shikamaru Nara, a tactical genius, he is still quite smart and savvy with his attacks. Sasuke always manages to track down his enemies’ weakness and use it as an advantage. He even took down Danzo the Hokage using his genjutsu. He ensures that he is well aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the enemy that he is fighting. Sasuke is very smart about the choices he makes, which makes him a very dangerous opponent.

Who Would Win?

Izuku, being an intelligent fighter, will immediately realize Sasuke’s abilities and start more intensely. He would use Full Cowling to enhance his strength and mobility. Izuku would attack Sasuke from every angle possible and try to push him to make a mistake. Izuku knows that even if he manages to land a punch with One for All, he would have an upper-hand in the fight. However, he would be surprised to find out that Sasuke would easily evade all his attacks with the Sharingan Eye’s insights. 

Izuku would respond by trying to hit Sasuke with some serious attack like Detroit Smash or Caroline Smash. By this time, Sasuke would realize that he needs to counter-attack; otherwise, Izuku would land a punch and put him in danger. Sasuke would outmaneuver Izuku’s attacks and try to catch him with Amaterasu, the black flames. Even if this is not enough, he can use Chidori lance to impale Izuku and finish the fight. So, even though Izuku starts the fight with a flurry of strong attacks, he would lose against Sasuke Uchiha, who is a better fighter.
